Don't stop...

I must admit, at first I was a little shocked by the ending of the Sopranos. Was that it? This is how it ends...cut to black. I am sure I am not the only one who thought the cable went out. In fact I bet there was a collective "what the fuck?" at 10:04 last night.
But after I let it sink in for a few minutes I came to the conclusion that overall it was a pretty good ending. Maybe I am going out on a limb here but I whole-heatedly think that Tony dies in the end. If you remember back to the start of season 6 when Tony and Bobby are on the lake talking about getting whacked, Bobby says, "I bet you don't even hear it."
So in the end Tony sat in a diner with his family and just as he looked up to see Meadow walking in the door.....blackness. He didn't hear or feel anything. And the buildup was intense...all the shady characters in the diner, Meadow unable to parallel park, the fact that there was only 2 more minutes until the end. I personally found it to be brilliant and even a little sad. With death being an inevitable part of life, the fact that it ends in pure silence and blackness is a little scary for some, comforting to others. But it is the truth and it is real. If anything Tony was as real as a character on television can get. And even if he didn't die, the TV show did, and what a way to go. It was as if we, the audience, got whacked...and we didn't even see it coming.

Sopranos

The Sopranos is coming to an end tonight at 9pm. I am eagerly anticipating the final show...how will it end, who will die, will the Jersey guys have the canolis to take over the New York guys?
I really don't have any predictions or expectations. I have been let down with past season finales (Seinfeld, anyone?). But one thing is for sure...I will enjoy a great hour of television with a great glass of Chianti.

Meh!!!

As I was pulling into my driveway this afternoon I noticed that one of my potted plants was missing. My gorgeous yellow Lilly plant had been stolen. The fact that someone would steal in the first place is beyond me...but a friggin potted plant? That's low, people!
I promptly removed all of the other plants, the chairs, the table, and assorted garden decorations. It is a sad world we live in when I cannot even decorate my private space. In fact, half of the fun of making the little bit of yard I have beautiful is so that others can appreciate it. It looks much better than my neighbors junky yard with broken down cars.
Well, now that I have vented I feel a little bit better. This evening, after dinner, Ryan and I are going to walk around the neighborhood and see if we spot my missing plant on any of my neighbors' porches.

Spiders-oh how I love this time of year!

On Friday night I found this guy hanging out on our front porch. I am pretty sure that he is a wolf spider, but he may also be a fishing spider as we do live near water. Anyway, he was quite stunning and he patiently let me take a ton of pictures of him before scurrying off into the darkness.

Congrats to Samantha...Class of 07

On Saturday we went to a graduation party for Samantha Bowman. The night before she graduated from Harford Technical High school. It was a great party. Congrats to Sammy and good luck to her as she will be going to Wilson College in the fall.

8th Annual Harford Hospice Regatta

This past Friday, June 1st, I attended the 2007 Harford Hospice Regatta. It is a fundraising event benefiting the Hospice program.

Even though it was very hot and humid we had a great time. The yummy food was provided by

Outback and the beer was flowing.

Aunt Patti and her co-workers did an excellent job this year. Cheers to them for all their hard work.
